The 25-year-old model, who is the son of The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, was charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
A woman was taken to the hospital following the alleged encounter with the younger Reedus.

The 25-year-old son of The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus and Danish model Helena Christensen was taken into custody in Manhattan after an alleged altercation with a 33-year-old woman on Saturday, a representative for the NYPD told Entertainment Weekly.

Police responded to an "assault in progress" around 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of 16th Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan, the spokesperson said. The woman sustained minor injuries on her neck and leg and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue by Emergency Medical Services.
"It was a misunderstanding," Mingus said while he was being placed in the back of a police vehicle after a reporter asked why he called the police, according to a video on NYPost.com.
Mingus Reedus was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and assault.
Representatives for Mingus did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.
This is not Mingus' first bout of legal trouble. The model was previously charged with misdemeanor assault following an alleged altercation with a 24-year-old woman in Manhattan in September 2021, according to PEOPLE. Police reported that the woman sustained an injury under her left eye and was transported to a hospital.

The woman in the earlier incident appeared drunk, Mingus told The New York Daily News, and her group of friends "swarmed" him and his friends at the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy.
"It was instinct,” he told the outlet. "I was reacting to them swarming me and was afraid for the safety of my group."
In November 2021, Mingus' attorney, Isabelle Kirshner, said the charge was "baseless and will be met with a rigorous defense." She added that her client "was the victim in this incident."
Mingus accepted a plea deal on the lesser charge of disorderly conduct. He was ultimately sentenced to a conditional discharge and mandated to attend five private counseling sessions.

Mingus has walked the runway for numerous high-profile fashion designers, including Versace, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger. He studied film at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2023.
