Julie Chrisley thinks her husband, Todd, would be "devastated" if their daughter, Savannah, chose to have a small wedding

"Your dad would have a heart attack," Julie told her daughter if she decided to run off and tie the knot
Todd Chrisley wouldn't be happy if his daughter, Savannah, just ran off and had a small wedding — that is, at least, according to his wife, Julie.
During an appearance on an episode of the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast released on Tuesday, Aug. 26, Julie, 52, opened up about how her husband, 57, would react if Savannah didn't have a big wedding while discussing what type of person she wants her 28-year-old daughter to end up.
Savannah is seemingly now single after PEOPLE confirmed her split with ex Robert Shiver. The two went their separate ways in April after nearly two years together. Before Shiver, Savannah was engaged to former hockey player Nic Kerdiles, who died in September 2023 — just one month into her relationship with Shiver. She also quietly dated country singer Nate Smith.
Julie admitted she "wouldn't be shocked" if her daughter just ran off and got married to somebody possibly older and came back and just casually told them she'd tied the knot.
"Would you be devastated if I did that?" Savannah asked before her mom responded, "Your dad would have a heart attack."
Julie then said, "If that's what you really wanted, no, I wouldn't be devastated, but your dad would. I would be devastated for him because he so always just wanted that beautiful wedding for his girls. And if you did that, Lindsie ran off. She didn't include us in her wedding."
The pair added that if Savannah were to do that, the only hope for their dad to have that big wedding would be Chloe.
Chloe, 12, who is the biological daughter of Todd's son, Kyle, and his ex, Angela Johnson, was legally adopted in 2016, making Todd and Julie her legal parents and the youngest Chrisley sibling. The adoption came amid Kyle's ongoing personal struggles.
Savannah then shared how she sees herself tying the knot, such as having a small wedding in Italy or the Cayman Islands. "See, that's the thing … I used to want, like, the huge, big wedding, and I just don't the older I get, the less I want it," she said, adding, "You spend all that money for one day."

The wedding discussion came after Savannah asked her mom who, ideally, she'd like to see her daughter end up with.
As Julie bluntly told her, "It's just you have no type. You just literally [go from] one end of the spectrum to the other. And I just, I don't know. I really don't know. But I mean, it's gonna have to be somebody strong because if not, he's gonna be crying at my kitchen table every day."
"I think someone that is successful, someone that is just a good, decent person, at their core, a good, decent person, someone who is a little bit older than you, I'm not saying … no more [than] like 10 years older, and that'd be it. Maybe 12, that's it. Somebody who doesn't have children … Just somebody who's a good, decent man," Julie said.
However, Julie pointed out that Savannah is "a bulldog," so if someone is too nice, she might "walk all over them," to which Savannah quipped that she's had "to be a bulldog" at times to "get to where" she's gotten to over the past few years.

Savannah shared, "I'm saying when I'm with the right person ... I will be softer and I will be, like, that's the thing. I just don't think I've ever really been with someone who has like held me on a pedestal of like, 'You're as good as it's ever gonna get. You are amazing. I love you.'"
Julie insisted, "But that's not reality to think that's gonna be every day," saying Savannah's generation thinks "it's going to be Instagram perfect, every day, and it's not" when it comes to relationships.
Julie's podcast appearance came after she and Todd were officially released from prison on May 28, just one day after receiving a full pardon from President Donald Trump, PEOPLE confirmed at the time.
The couple reported to separate prisons in January 2023 after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud the previous year.
